We do not discriminate on grounds of race, gender, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation, appearance disability or medical condition, but we can refuse to accept patients if they are violent and abusive, live outside the practice area or if the practice list is officially closed.
Emergency and Immediately Necessary Treatment
GPs will provide all emergency and immediately necessary medical treatment regardless of your residence or visitor status.
If there is a routine appointment available at a time that is acceptable to you and you will be living in the practice area for more than 24hrs and less than 3 months, you may be registered as a temporary resident.
Charging temporary residents from overseas
We do not charge EU patients. If you are from elsewhere outside the UK we charge at the rate of £35.00 per consultation (including the cost of issuing a private prescription). In addition, you will need to pay for your medication from a pharmacy or for any tests.
If you are going to be in the practice area for more than 3 months, you may register as a permanent patient. You will need to complete a registration form and provide 2 documents showing that you are resident in the area - eg utility bills, passport, driving licence etc.
Acceptance of a patient onto a GP practice’s list of patients allows access to primary care medical services, but it does not automatically entitle an individual to receive other NHS services free of charge.

You will still have to visit the surgery to show proof of identity (driving licence/passport) and address (utility bill/rental agreement/bank statement).
If you are visiting the UK on a working visa, reception staff will need to see this. Registration documents need to be completed for each family member; children under the age of 13yrs have different forms.
Please do not be offended if reception staff are unable to complete your registration due to insufficient documentation.
Once registered you will be able to make appointments – please allow at least one week.
Appointments and prescriptions can be requested on line. Once registered, relevant passwords can be printed out – please ask at reception.
